#666: 3G SIM capability

Comment(by Eorhim):

Today I tried with 2008.9 with no positive result. The displayed message
 is "SIM is missing."
I then looked hard at the pin layout of my Siemens SK 65 and saw only 5
instead of 8. The two to the crippled edge are missing. So I put a tape
over those two fields on the SIM card and retried. No change. To check, if
this configuration is wprking at all, I put the "crippled" SIM card back
into the SK 65 and it worked just fine. So it's definitly not an
interrupted contact to those two fields.
On the attathed photo you can see, that the fields align pretty good with
the contacts. The scratch markes on the SIM card were made by the SK 65.
The little scratch on the upper right field was made by the Freerunner.

Comment(by Niko!):

Hi zeche, i was stucked when i read i set the component again! but now i'm
happier becouse i know that the problem is a bug in my mind: I tipically
tend to reset a combobox selecting the first item (usually it's blank or
"--" or similiar) that there was "Distro".
I'll be more carefull the next time, because i'm an engineer too and
 already know
how much important is time for all, openmoko employees, volunteers and why
 not bug reporters :)
Howewer may you consider to remove from the new ticket form the
 unnecessary combobox?
it would solve the problem definitively.

Now let's return to the problem.
I attached the installed list of packages.

it would be interesting that resizefs works fine on the last FSO unstable
 image.

Yes, it is a matter of time. Our admins have a pile of things to do as
 well.

When I remove the usb cable and replug it back in, only then does my
freerunner start charging. The following is the dump_regs when it's
charging after the replug of the cable:
