Comment(by TreviƱo):

 I don't think that this is a bug... Btw you could get the same editing the
 file /home/root/.config/Trolltech/Storage.conf (copy or create it) like
 the one in /opt.

Comment:

 It's an NRP (non-reproduce) issue for us right now. I think we can make it
 go to mass-testing and try to clarify it with the neo on which if this
 issue happens again.

 It is possible to use USB video input devices on the Freerunner, as
 documented here: http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Webcam

 It would make the whole procedure easier already if video input device
 support was enabled by default in the kernel. The kernel used in my tests
 was 2.6.24+git (I have no access to the exact version string right now,
 sorry). The distribution was Debian Lenny, but with an official Openmoko
 kernel; this should therefore apply to every Openmoko distribution.

Comment(by andy):

 We can add the base video bits as modules easily enough, I am not sure
 what we should do about randomly making all webcam modules though. Maybe
 someone on the packaging side has a view on it.

Comment(by newkirk):

 That sounds like a win, to me.

 Eventually we'll want more complex behavior, both from the networking and
 from USB hotplug, but udev bringing up usb0 (with default DNS of
 opendns.org or similar) sounds like a simple fix for now.

 Will there be problems if USB mass storage mode is enabled instead of
 networking?

Comment(by lala):

 Being with events/0 at ~27% CPU, I've unpluged the neo from the wall
 charger into the desktop usb and I'v seen some errors in dmesg. See
 attached.
