There is an easy way to detect this, run a loop in the guest system: root@q71:~# while sleep 1; do date; done Fri May 12 06:27:20 CEST 2017 Fri May 12 06:27:22 CEST 2017 Fri May 12 06:27:24 CEST 2017 I see it on a fully emulated amd64 qemu. As a workaround I compile my guest kernel with option HZ=50. Problem is that the host clock and the guest clock a ticking with exactly the same frequency. Then interrupts are lost. This has been discussed with mlarkin@, he knows more details. I am not aware of a fix. bluhm
