Michael Davidsaver decided that for PVXS using libevent was easier than 
implementing the various different requirements for network interface code 
running on the Linux, Windows, macOS, VxWorks and RTEMS platforms that we 
support. He will have tested it for pc386/pc686 on the RTEMS 4.9, 4.10 and 
RTEMS-5 builds that the epics-base CI configuration currently builds for, so I 
assume the problem that @junkes is reporting here is probably specific to RTEMS 
6 and/or 7.

The workaround ("Fix: …") above is a modification to the bundled libevent code 
inside PVXS.
