The port implements no thread-local storage. The MIPS ABI reads the thread pointer with the `rdhwr` instruction from hardware register 29, which the processor of the `jmr3904` BSP does not implement, so the access takes a reserved instruction exception. Found while running the full test suite on the GDB simulator.
