Then we can discuss each part separately -- what version is suitable for each compiler, and then -- if or when we end up with all compilers supporting C++17 -- we can come back to the discussion of whether that is a good idea. To be clear: my goal here was not as much the C++17 as getting a compiler bump, especially for getting rid of old buggy ones. I kind of piggybacked that discussion here, but once again, it is better to take that separately.
