They are all over the place down here, town of any size gets a Dairy Queen, then either a Sonic or Whataburger (Texas institution). The Sonics have car hops, and I have seen a few on skates, they are well known for their heavy us of neon. This became an issue with the first one that went in to Missouri City (a bedroom community to Houston, were the homestead is). The city is heavily zoned, unlike Houston, there was a major battle between the city council and Sonic management, Sonic lost. We have possibly the only Sonic in the chain without the trademark neon, not a great loss. BTY the food sucks.
