Dale,

As far as Claredi certification is concerned, there are two mechanisms:

- The certified entity can put the "Claredi certified" logo on their web site
with a link to the Claredi directory.  The Claredi directory will then show
their exact certification.  Since just about anybody could lift the "Claredi
certified" logo and put it in their web site (it is protected by
Copyright, so they would be in violation of the law if they do it) it is
important that if you see the "Claredi certified" symbol, you click on it to
verify the contents of the directory for that entity.

- The other way is by going directly to the Claredi directory yourself.  On
April 1st Claredi opened free access to the directory to the general public.
But, to protect the privacy of Claredi's customers, the existing Claredi
customers must choose to "opt in" to have their certification listed (for
free) in the publicly available version of the directory, and choose what
items of information they want to publish.  So far only a few of the Claredi
customers have chosen to publish their information.  In general we have seen
that Claredi customers that are not yet certified want to be invisible until
they get at least the first certification.  We respect that.

The directory also lets them post demographic, encryption key certificates,
trading partner agreements, companion documents, etc. but so far most people
are limiting their directory listing to just minimal demographics and
certifications they have completed.  Some also list their "work in progress"
icons for the transactions they are working on.  Slowly people are becoming
more open about their transaction implementation progress.

Now I have a question for the group.  Should we offer this directory for
covered entities to list whether they have applied for an ASCA extension?
