Dale, DSM-IV are not among the code sets identified by HIPAA. True the code is the same as the ICD-9 code, however Mental Health has altered/changed the descriptions to meet mental health needs. Users of DSM-IV must map to ICD-9 where appropriate and request new ICD-9 codes as needed.
