Usha, I have seen the larva of Acherontia lachesis (death's head hawkmoth)
in Digboi in 2007.the place has an average elevation of 165 metres. It was
the time i was just entered the world of lepidoptera. I could not identify
the species as the larva was lost and I always thought it to be a butterfly
larva.

Till now I have not seen any adult death's head hawkmoth.
