Just another thought - are you certain that arg1 and arg2 are what you think they are? That is, should hDC be arg2 and ppfd be arg1? Outputting (or examining by whatever means) the values of some of the ppfd fields should help - if they look weird then that could be explained by swapped arg pointers.
