shift_jis encoding is supported but whenever I use the said encoding, my parser returns an exception.. please can somebody tell me if this is really supported ?? I am currently using : xerces-c_2_8_0-x86-solaris-cc_5_7 ps. sorry to keep asking about this ... I just could not find any answers on the documentation. gloridel
