Hi gloridel, the only message from you that talked about a makefile problem was when you were trying to compile your application against Xerces. Now we are talking about recompiling Xerces with the ICU library (as Xerces doesn't ship precompiled binaries including ICU). You should: 1) ensure you have the ICU development package installed on your system (check for the existence of the /usr/include/unicode folder) 2) download the sources for Xerces (xerces-c-src_2_8_0.tar.gz) from http://xerces.apache.org/xerces-c/download.cgi 3) follow the instruction at http://xerces.apache.org/xerces-c/build-misc.html
