General:
- Features completed: installadm, create-service, delete-service,
start/stop service create-client, delete-client,
AI webserver, Publish manifest, AI client choosing engine
- Features to be completed: AI engine, AI manifest parsing, AI
service discovery engine, and service list
Schedule
- Planned feature complete - 10/10/08
- Currently the features for November is listed in the design document
AI for SPARC
- IPS for SPARC will start appearing in the Nevada builds from snv_99
AI net image, microroot, Client service discovery: Jan
- AI service discovery engine will be completed by 10/03/08
- Integrated AI SMF method with service choosing engine and service
discovery engin
SPARC image and testing: Ginnie
- Tested libti for sparc
- Working with Jan to integrate SMF work with AI service discovery
and choosing engine
- Will be testing with MPXIO enabled disks.
AI utilities: Sundar and Sue
- First version of install tools integrated
- List services/manifests arr to be completed in installadm
- Created a package SUNWinstalladm-tools for AI setup tools.
- I was able to boot the netimage that was setup by installadm
tools. It didn't have the code to download user archives. So you
can't do much after boot.
- L10N/I18N : Sundar is in contact with L10N team (Takeshi Asano)
AI Engine: Alok & William
- The AI engine with IPS is installing successfully.
- Started working on parsing AI manifest.
- William completed Orchestrator and TI modification related to
fdisk and slices. It is in code review.
- William will be working in AI engine to call the new API created
for slices or fdisk.
AI Web server and serving AI manifest from the web server: Clay
- The AI web server code along with publish manifest is in code review
- AI webserver is taking port and document root as options
QE: Andre & Rich
- The test plan is updated based on the initial comments.
- Rich is working on writing tests
- Jeffrey is working on Fidsk/slice testing
Documentation: Barbara
- The first version of installadm man page was sent to caiman-discuss
- installadm man page will be part of the package (SUNWinstalltools)
that delivers installadm
- Auto Installer articles are sent for review.
AI image
- We are in the process of creating AI netimage that contains all
SMF, service discovery and service choosing engine changes.
Issues:
1. Code freeze is this week. We need to have at least one successful
install
2. We need help with the code reviews.
3. We need to produce a stable AI image for testing.
4. 6464201 need to be resolved. Otherwise all opensolaris systems
used as install servers will be affected.
5. The current version of TI cannot label SPARC disks (Deferred)
6. SPARC archives are too big (1.5 GB) (Jan) (Deferred)
7. SPARC IPS will not be available till Jan 2009
8. AI localization (Sundar to work with Shinobu and Takeshi)
