Hi Willie/Frank, A few months ago, we discussed A11Y support for the new installer and it was postponed because some problems of UI desin and I was busy with UI of OpenSolaris 2008.11. Now my UI related work for OpenSolaris 2008.11 is almost done. I think we can start to work on A11y support for the new installer again. Li Yuan and Jeff Cai from desktop team are willing to help too.
Willie, as far as we discussed before, the new installer has basic A11Y support implemented already. But there are still some problems make it hard for disabled people to use. And we should make some modifications to make it easy to use. So we want to what are your requirements? What should we do to improve A11Y support of the new installer. The more specific, the better. So we can make plan. And if these modifications impacts the UI design of the new installer, we should let Frank know and give him enough time to redesign the UI. We have 4 months before code freeze of 2009.04. Considering the Chinese Spring Festival will be at the end of Jan 2009 and most of chinese will have a long vacation at that time, I think we should finish the work before that. Regards, Jedy
