Thanks for doing this. Here are my comments:
70: say default url is ... and default authname is ...
A word about defaults in general: Probably OK to just list defaults for
certain items which most people may change. Having defaults set up
behind the scenes makes the file easy to use for the bulk of the users,
and the rest of the users can look at the documentation for the details.
Alternatively, if we were to specify all defaults in the manifest, we
should just add them. I think this would clutter the file though so I
don't recommend doing this.
49, 71, 84: can have multiple mirrors.
Just curious: has anyone tried additional repo authorities?
542: Please mention about the arglist, what it represents, that it is a
whitespace-separated list of double-quoted strings, that they are called
by the finalizer scripts as arg6+, etc.
