some comments on this decision to go with C/GTK+ over java :
- firstly I agree that memory usage is a problem with the current installer.
- if java was the right choice for the current installer , what makes it the
wrong choice for the new one ?
- dumping java means 0% code reuse.
- have you thought about the future and considered the fact that pretty much
every college (at least in Ireland) teaches java as its #1 language in computer
science courses. Most students have little knowledge of C when they graduate.
- there's no comparison when it comes to comparing the netbeans IDE (despite
all the criticism) and glade (or is there something better these days ?)
