The latest SW release for x4540 is SW1.1

at CDS-CDS_SMI>
which says:
This release supports the following operating systems: Solaris 10
11/08 Operating System, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7 64-bit, Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5.2 64-bit, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP2
64-bit, Windows Server 2003 32&64-bit and Windows Server 2008 32&64-bit.
Since OpenSolaris is supported but not mentioned in the most current SW
release usually means the product team most likely hasn't finished
testing and related qual work yet.
You may need to open a ticket to have someone look at this.
