It was still in my queue, but since you're going to be pushy about it... 
;^)  My contention is that this live CD is oriented at a desktop client, 
not a file server, thus I don't think packages which benefit primarily 
the latter are good candidates, but as to your specific suggestions:

Since we don't yet have a JRE that can be included, adding 
Java-dependent items is a waste of bits, which rules out the 
smcwebserver infrastructure and apps for the time being.

SUNWsmba* are a 25+ MB package (I'm unaware whether that includes SWAT). 
  As the native CIFS support is expected "soon", I'd rather hold off on 
that decision for now.

SUNWwebmin* is also around 25 MB.  It feels more like a repository 
package to me, as (from my memory, I haven't used it in a long time) 
most of its functionality seems oriented at managing services which we 
either won't include or won't enable on the live CD.  Thus I'm not 
inclined to recommend it.
