I can see how what I said could have been misinterpreted as adding the 
single p7zip binary to SUNWslim-utils.  I agree that this would be a bad 
solution for just the reasons you state.

When I responded originally I meant to say add SUNWp7zip package (not 
the p7zip file alone) to SUNWslim-utils thinking the latter was an 
incorporation. Hence my last email when I found out SUNWslim-utils 
wasn't an incorporation.  What I meant is more along the lines of how 
Dave responded to my email:

  SUNWp7zip should be added to the slim_install cluster rather than as 
an additional
  package in pkgs.txt.
