We're very interested in an online service for distro generation, since the main obstacles I see in building your own locally are having sufficient bandwidth, CPU, and perhaps storage to pull everything together onto a standalone build system. NimbleX wasn't one I'd heard of before, but custom.nimblex.net is not far from what I had in mind. I'm not sure that starting with a standalone GUI gets you very far towards solving that problem, though. > The following is my current roadmap: > 1.Design a wizard like GUI using Java. > 2.Provide options for adding repositories , selecting a subset of > available repositories. > 3.Option for Media Selection (i.e final media would be a CD/DVD or/and > USB image). > 4.Package selection. > > would love if you could give suggestions or comments. > (The choice of using JAVA for GUI is a part of the project proposal and > cannot be changed.) > That's unfortunate, since you won't be able to leverage very well from the other work that's going on with the IPS and Caiman components.
