I think what Dave is subtly pointing out here is that IPS and many other projects around it are using Python. You would really be best suited to write this in Python as we are developing quite a few APIs for it and IPS is (almost entirely) written using it. You will have to reinvent quite a few "wheels" if you stick with your choice of language. -- Shawn Walker
