I talked with Joe about this, and this install-finish code is all going
to go away. Evidently, there were comments about the non-standard way
this code was handled when the code was originally submitted to
slim_source, and it was accepted at the time. I'll make note in 6255
of the work I've done so far so that it can be used if it is needed.
I'll update the copyright so that it is correct and put it back.
