A .torrent file provides a BitTorrent client, such as Transmission 
(which is available in the OpenSolaris package repository), with the 
metadata needed to download the file it references (in this case an 
OpenSolaris ISO image) using the torrent peer-to-peer protocols. 
Internal Sun users should generally get ISO's from nana.sfbay using ftp 
or http clients.  Externally, you can download directly using http from 
genunix.org.
