I am currently using 1&1 shared hosting for a website with cake and it is running perfectly. First thing you have to do is *let the URL point to the applications webroot directory.* Then modify you .htaccess file in the webroot directory to: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?url=$1 [QSA,L] </IfModule>
and that's it. At least with 1&1 shared hosting sold to customers in germany, but I doubt they have a different setup for other countries. -- Our newest site for the community: CakePHP Video Tutorials http://tv.cakephp.org Check out the new CakePHP Questions site http://ask.cakephp.org and help others with their CakePHP related questions.
