Not strictly accurate ;) So just for clarification:

above without any problems, but if any of it's going to bite me on the
bum in the future I'd like to stop using it:)

Sorry dani, I thought I'd put the bit about vars being shared across
views (but I confused myself with the EmailComponent article for the
bakery) - that was the 'plain old php' bit.
