I never use the phrase forward and back when I teach this dance. I say take hands in lines and walk forward and STOP -- then I say Gents as you back up roll your neighbor away with a half sashay then I say take hands in lines and walk forward and STOP Ladies on your way back roll that same neighbor gent away with a 1/2 sashay
