Ok. I amend my statement. I am indeed referring to T38 Modem. As for SIP modem I would be happy to contribute what I can in the way of testing and reporting back. I have a T38 capable upline and I have a successful T38 fax receive system in place. My system is on a fibre link with low, stable latency to my VoIP provider.
