Funny you should ask actually. Every customer we've swapped from FSK,
mostly w/ KP 17dBi yagis, has gained 5-6dB downlink power level. We've
been using some of the Cambium OEM 12's and a few of the new KP 14's to
compare. I haven't yet figured out why. It's weird. Perhaps the 450i
transmitter is just moar bettar. Or the FSK APs we have up just suck.
Is Ken on this list? I know he's done some FSK to 450i swaps. I wonder
if he's seen any difference in power levels.

How are the signals comparing when you migrate from FSK to the 4501?

I think I posted this over on the AF list earlier this week. We set
up a 900 450i AP with an H and a V omni to convert a 4x90 H-pol FSK
site with ~20 customers. 5MHz channel, 5ms and configured as close as
I could get it to sync with the FSK.
Added a couple more customers this week. SMs have all been installed
slant and they work perfectly fine. The uplinks aren't so good with
the noise, but I'm actually quite surprised at how well it's working,
especially seeing the 6X and 8X downlinks. Hopefully the uplinks will
improve as we get more FSK off the air.
