JmsPollingConsumer broken?

Hi,

I am using the PollingConsumer to poll messages from a JMS-Topic. 
The problem is that the pollingconsumer seems to only subscribe to the Topic
while consumer.receive() is called. This means that any messages arriving
inbeetween receive()-calls are getting lost.
Is this expected behaviour? or a bug?
