I doubt there is a best practice as what is best for you might not be
best for another.

Services as POJO beans can be used in Camel using bean-integration, so
you can have a MyOrderService POJO that exposes 10 methods for order
processing. Then you can call the same POJO but specify which method
to call for each processing step.
