Hi John,

If you're mounting this on a Sinar camera, there's no problem at all. Simply front mount the lens on a Sinar lensboard and you're ready to go. Just make sure your mount doesn't extend behind the lensboard more 1/4 to 1/2". I've never figured out how to get the aperture control to work, so I've always shot the lens "wide open". I suppose I could have made some waterhouse stops, but I liked the softness when shot wide open.

Has anyone got first-hand experience of using a Sinar Auto shutter (the
mechanical Copal one) with an improvised lens, such as a simple meniscus
lens?

I have emailed Sinar in Switzerland on two occasions, but apart from a
'we'll get back to you soon' reply, I have yet to receive a proper answer.

All I need to know is:

Whether or not this combination will work.
And if it does, do you need to fit any accessories or make any
modifications?

Best wishes,
John Evans
