That is interesting!  Wierd!  I don't remember anyone  writing about that, and we put our daughter in french immersion.  Emily was in the school down the road for 10 days, and I called one of the local French immersion schools, and they had space so we pulled her out, and put her in the new school within two days of calling!  She is doing excellent!  She is in Kindergarden, but you can start them in grade 1 as well and that is the limit.  I think if you can give them that little extra why not?  So for the people who were contimplating(sp) I too believe it is worth it!  Hey Betty how's the Bo?  How are all the rest of you doing?  Our big topic on Halloween a few months ago, then it seemed so far from my mind, and now it's just around the corner!!!   Anyways hope to hear from you all soon!

Subject: [canada] French Immersion

I recall that someone on our group was considering French Immersion schooling for their son but their dh was reluctant.  I just read this article about a recent study which shows that the actual grey matter of the brain is bigger in people who are bilingual that in people who are monolingual.  Might help convince your dh that French Immersion is worthwhile!
