After many years with a dual axle 25ft Airstream I recently bought an early
60's Avion 20ft Tourist that is only single axle. I can honestly say that I
can tell no difference in towability. I do tend to watch my tires and
bearings a lot closer as I am sure a highway speed blowout is a much more
serious event with a single axle.
