Actually, you are dead wrong. You can rant all you
want philisophically (I don't disagree) but if a law
tomorrow banned any money to be received from
programming there would be no XP and the programs we
would have would be far different.

Even Open Source is highly related to money. Most (not
all) right open source to land a job or improve their
career. The minute that occurs you get the famous...

It was a great two years on this site.

I always wondered what would happen if programmers
where the business leaders. If we were all MBA's in
business and finance and the only way we made money
was to build and market our products ourselves. Would
we then come closer to the "Management" that XP talks
about so much.

Me personally, I have since 14 and always will
program, money or not. I enjoy it. But what I would
write without pay would be radically different then
what I am paid to write now!
