One concern I have regarding pro et con is that is would seem to suppose that there are two sides two every issue, when in fact, there are usually several.  Is there a way to allow for differing dissenting opinions?  Or is that dissenting differing opinions?

Hi Jimbo and all

I feel we still need to discuss how to facilitate the meaningful, structured
and userfriendly input and reading of opposing views. That is pro- et con. The
pro et con tabs do have the advantage they provide structure in an easy way,
but when reading and writing the necessity of jumping between the two might be
a drawback. Of course it would be possible do solve it in part by having to
tabs in the browser open (or two windows if in standard MSIE).

But being able to reference precisely back and forth to specific arguments on
the other tab, is paramount, I´d say. Will that be possible ?

Just for the record, the other alternatives being put forward, were using pro
et con sub-sections in traditional paragraphs. Of course that option will still
be open. And then there was the suggestion of a beefed up pro -et con table,
with widgetry to make it easier to edit, but that part is probably beyond the
present scope here at campaigns-l .

Best Regards,
Morten

P.S. Just trying to help this tool evolve into something really useful for
structured, meaningful deliberations of issues and candidates/partylists.
