I enjoyed reading your trip reports but the frequent complaints about people going past while you were staying in bed late jarred a bit. If you want to enjoy a "lazy morning" that is up to you but you can't expect everyone else to have to do the same. Otherwise it is you who is being anti-social!
If you like a lie-in on holiday you could go to bed earlier! :o) The other thing that jarred a little was your description of how, sometimes, upon hearing a boat approaching, you get ready quickly and pull off in front of it, presumably so that you wouldn't have to wait at the next lock first.
