Hey, then can you get the army etc. to fund the restoration of some of
the many derelict canals in the NE USA, on the same logic?

Good grief!  That's nearly 8 mph, which is about 13 km/h, not counting
time in locks.

What's the speed limit on the wateways over there?  Here it is 6 km/h,
although a bit more in mainland Europe.

Not sure about that.  A *very* small bomb next to a lock gate could
ruin your whole day.

I think there is a typo there.  Replace the "i" with  a "u".
