Ha ha ha, it's much more fun learning from my friends rather than
studying an archive :-)) With all your useful comments and humour
it's easier to remember stuff. Anyhow it is something I'm interested
in, I love the sound of a vintage engine and the stories those boats
could tell if only they could talk would encapsulate such a lot of
important social and industrial history.
Thanks to everyone so far for helping me start my list. What I was
actually looking for is historic boats still on the water who are
now paired whether or not they were paired in the past. I guess a
snap shot of today. Once I know the names it gives me a better shot
at researching the archives and of course I'm going to visit
www.hnboc.com and the horseboating society etc.
