Thanks Brian - a very nostalgic read for one who has done the journey many
times. Methinks some of the problems with current boat are due to it's
relatively short length and shallow draft. The former 'John Gray' was a
sight more stable in the water - and after all was a narrowboat in the true
sense a culmination of years of design improvement.
