In his reply to my letter, he said he was concerned about the impact the cuts might have on the waterways. That may just be politician-speak, but it is at least a positive response. Incidentally, Malcolm, I doubt if it is necessary to explain to the English just which part of Scotland the Chancellor of the Exchequer represents in Parliament :-) Dorothy
