I write everything "by hand" in a simple editor that allows me to see the result from time to time. I design template pages and then add the content to those templates. No code bloat for me! I've got right into CSS for layout which allows for very lean html code for each page. This also makes it easier to pinpoint any errors so that the code validates as strict HTML 4.01. This in turn helps to make sure it appears properly in a range of browsers.
I am currently working on website accessibility and have recently re- designed two websites to include access keys (for those who do not use a mouse) and greater contrast between text and background colour. http://www.hcanals.demon.co.uk/index.htm (canally) http://www.emmausmossley.org.uk/index.htm (non-canally) - if anyone is interested. I have also found a useful tool for checking on colour contrast including for those people with colour-blindness - http://www.visionaustralia.org.au/info.aspx?page=628 The Number Ten website fails miserably on that! -- Martin Clark Internet Boaters' Database http://www.boaterweb.co.uk Pennine Waterways Website http://www.penninewaterways.c o.uk
