You also dont know what time it was done, the fire might have been 
really fairly small and contained when that was done, before any of 
the photos shown where taken.

If a small fire broke out on a boat, i think about the first sensable 
thing to do would be to turn off the gas if its not already, and then 
remove the bottle(s).
 - Even with propaine screw fittings, you can always just pull, 
pigtails arnt actually that strong.
