which category is completely different. Best you can do is to
skip/delete those messages that don't interest you."

This list is like a pub filled with friends interested in canals and
waterways. But even so, you won't find every conversation of interest.
When we're in a pub with our friends, though much of our conversation might
revolve around our common interest, we might ocassionally wish to talk
about other things. This is the model this list has followed since its
inception. It just does not seem reasonable to suppress this ocassional
off-topic talk.
I do agree that at times there is a bit much of the off-topic stuff (like
recently) but fortunately it does not yet happen too often.
