Interesting. Yes in Scotland we can use a rowing boat / canoe etc - but as i haven't used such craft for many years I haven't taken advantage. I haven't seen a great increase in use of boats on rivers near me, but I wonder if any other people up here have ?. It's not just navigable waterways - which are in the minority here, there are many more rivers. -- Malcolm
