I have been in communication with Ron and Mary Heritage of the Oxford Branch of IWA and they are organising a gathering at Banbury on Saturday March 3 between 10am and 4 pm.
Their theme for the day will be "Waterways for All" under the banner of save our waterways. They will have a display stand in the shopping centre and, if they can get sufficient people to support it a similar display alongside the boats, with activities to keep the children amused while they talk to the adults In addition they are planning some games to occupy the children. Getting stickers with Waterways for all and Save our Waterways on them. Have prepared a letter for MPs for people to sign and for them to post on, thinking they may comply with this better than asking them to write one themselves. Individual letters have more impact than petitions. They are having difficulty making contact with the various groups. Canoe and cycling club sound interested but they are still waiting for replies from the Ramblers local Chair of the Historic society. They have been unable to contact anyone from the fishing fraternity so if anyone has a contact they would be pleased to hear from you. They have asked Tony Baldry the local MP to come along a -- Brian Ancient Order of Sewer Ants Visit this site and help save our waterways http://www.savethewaterways.org.uk/
