Somebody (I can't remember where) was saying they were having problems
redeeming their Nectar points, as Nectar moves your "home" store to
the last place you used it, supposedly to "be helpful".

I have a similar problem: my "home" store was the one local to me, but
I fill the company's van up using the same card at any one of four
possible locations. Having spoken to Nectar's Call Centre
(India-based, and as useless as you might expect) and my local store,
there seem to be two possible solutions.

Stay put for a couple of days having used the card at a particular
Sainsburys. That store will become your "home" store after 48 hours,
and you can then spend your points.

Ring Nectar, and ask them to send you your points balance as vouchers.
This is assuming you registered an address with Nectar, otherwise
you'll have to give them one. Once you've got the vouchers, you can
use them wherever you like!
