<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] : snip : 9.30am. Some owners go straight back to the marina, others moor nearby and : make the final move in the morning as mooring in the marina the night before : feels like a premature end to the trip. : : Funnily, just now every time I typed 'marina' I found myself on the point of : typing 'boatyard'. :
I wonder what it does for the batteries, moor at 3 pm half a mile above the marina/boatyard, set the sky dish whizzing and put the TV on all evening, have the lights on etc. Friday morning start up and travel les than 20 minutes, leave the boat. The next owners arrive 4 pm take over the boat, go as far as Calcutt and stop for the night. The warm fridge and freezer with the fresh food in are working their socks off, the sky dish is whizzing and the TV and lights are all on again. This must be even worse if the boat is laid up for a 2 weeks before the other owners arrive. Do Ownerships put them on a shore charge if they are not being used for a bit? -- Brian Ancient Order of Sewer Ants Visit this site and help save our waterways http://www.savethewaterways.org.uk/
