My main reason for posting was to make the point about the fee not being each year for the three years of the contract. I probably would be surprised at how few boaters use the net. I suppose we're biassed. For a start all of us (and are we not the whole civilised world!) Do use it and for myself I've had it at home since the days of 9.6k in 1995. I remember the excitement when I got my first 28k modem!
WRT internet access I can only recommend what I use which is the orange PAYG £1 a day deal. With that it really doesn't matter how long it takes to download a file. Just leave it to get on with it. While I normally use the laptop onthe boat as I'm doing now, I use the PDA when I'm in the car or whatever and ebay is certainly useable though not as easy to navigate on a small screen. Connie, Brian and Diana will attest to the fact rthat we bought a caravan on ebay betweem main course and pudding while having dinner in the Wharf at Fenny having dinner. I had the PDA and mobile 'phone beside me on that table., Sad or not! Cheers Guy -- Guy Morgan nb Virgo, WFB, Stockton GU Defend the waterways. Visit the web site www.saveourwaterways.org.uk
