They did it with great efficiency and dedication for many years, but eventually it became too much. It was a huge amount of organisation and effort, and it meant that the people who were cooking, serving and cleaning up afterwards never saw the Illuminated Boats procession. I was sorry that it came to an end because it was excellent, but you can't blame SPBC for not wanting to continue. The demise of the BBQ predates the Paddington Basin developments by some years. > * boaters entertainment on Saturday night. Chucklefoot were good but you can only watch them once. Oh > I forgot there was some jazz on Saturday afternoon but we were in > the parade so missed it. I hope you enjoyed the jazz on Sunday afternoon/ evening (from about 5.30 to 6.30 pm and later on during the illuminated boat procession). > > Steve I am not sitting on the side lines sniping but just remembering > the good times which seem to be slipping away. > > Paul > NB The Rosery Things change every year, and I am sure your comments will be taken forward for helping to plan next year's event.
